The Association of Consultant Architects

ACA Conference

ACA ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2011
A one-day conference looking at issues in practice, both techincal and administrative for all architects,
architectural technicians, interior designers, planners, specifi ers and others interested in building design. The
sessions will highlight current trends in legal and contractural matters, insurance, building regulations, town
planning, sustainability and energy and job running through a mixture lectures and panel discussions.

We will be offering delegates the option to attend one of two tours before the main conference: a visit to the
award winning City Academy at Hackney (limited to 20) or, a city walking tour around the city of London, with
tour guide Peter Wynne Rees (limited to 15). As both tours are limited we recommend early booking to secure
your place on the tour of your choice. Peter has been the City Planning Officer for the City of London since
1985 and an architect by training so will provide the best guide for what will be an architects guide for to
architecture in the City. Mark Lowman, Principal Project Manager, City of London and Andrzei Kussell, Studio
E Architects will show delegates the PPC2000 built and multi award winning City Academy in Hackney

Our keynote speaker will be the Government Chief Construction Adviser, Paul Morrell who will be
contemplating ‘The Future Shape of the Construction Industry’. Unusually, this session will run from 18.15
- 19.00, immediately before our dinner reception. We are encouraging both dinner guests and conference
attendees to join us for what promises to be an enthralling keynote session.

We hope delegates will stay for the ACA Annual Dinner which will be held after the keynote at the Pewterers
Hall. Bring your colleagues and clients to dinner in the Livery Room. Entertainment will be provided by ‘Voices
Various’ - a team of musicians/performers who will entertain guests with songs themed to our CPD conference
streams. Enjoy cover numbers to classics such as fever, autumn leaves, smoke gets in your eyes but with
unusual takes on the traditional verses!
