Membership
Membership of the Association of Consultant Architects is by individual, but that individual can represent and pass membership benefits to their whole practice. One or more individuals can represent their practice as
the nominated Association member with full voting rights at ACA meetings. All ACA members must be a registered
Architect in the U.K.
Practices represented by ACA members vary enormously in size and type;
some specialise while others cover a wide variety of work; some are composed
solely of Architects while others are multi-disciplinary (that is to say
they include structural and services engineers, quantity surveyors, town
planners and landscape Architects, for example).
Annual membership fees are worked out according to the size of the member's practice.
ACA Forum
Constitutionally Forum is affiliated to the Association of Consultant Architects
and its purpose either regionally, nationally or internationally is to
encourage and foster high standards of Architecture and Architectural Education,
to advance the knowledge of Architecture and to promote public awareness
and understanding of the physical environment and the forces, which shape
it.
Student Membership of ACA Forum
In 2002 ACA developed Student Membership through Forum. In particular ACA
are keen to promote awareness of the Association and its work to students
of architecture and to support students especially in the development of
good practice.
Student members of ACA Forum do not have voting rights at ACA general meetings
but are entitled to many of the benefits offered to Members of the Association
of Consultant Architects. There is no charge for student membership. A representative for students can sit on ACA Council.
